The Pilot Project Student Memory Use Omega-3 Fatty Acids

By the end of this year, he will publish the results of the study in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

According to a study conducted on rats and mice it uses three methods of winding paths shaped Y (Y-maze), T-shaped winding path (T-maze) and exam pool with the treatment of omega-3 fatty acids into the body the animals. He said the study found that rats and mice are placed in the Y-maze and T-maze more active and explore the surrounding area, have a stronger memory, and when tested in the test pool, the animals are more active towards the flotation (platform).

Most recently, he was doing research using a new animal model of zebrafish (Zebra fish) on the Y-maze with the treatment of Omega-3 Fatty acids. From the research results prove the treatment of zebrafish with Omega-3 swim more active and powerful memory when exploring the Y-maze.

Proven Fatty Acids Omega-3 is able to improve memory and reduce stress, anxiety and depression because it is unsaturated fatty acids, which promotes blood circulation in the brain.  Those who take omega-3 fatty acids, especially those active in sports will get a little more energetic advantage because while students also will increase memory .

"It can also help in controlling or reducing the rapid memory loss as experienced by Alzheimer's patients," he said. The examination was conducted by the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme of RM99,000 .
